Day 13....I spotted a Dragon today

So I was doing my morning stroll to work this morning in the crisp January morning 62 degrees...cold for here and out of an alley jumps a dragon and well scared the ___ out of me

But he turned out to be friendly and was very open to be photographed..So here he is on my blog now...
So today we learned about the expanded model and got this short poem about English which I think you will all find interesting

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes
but the plural of ox become oxen, not oxes

One fowl is a goose, and two are called geese
yet the plural of moose should never be meese

If the plural of man is always called men,
why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?

If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet,
and I give you a boot, would a pair be a beet?

There is no egg in eggplant, neither ham in hamburger, nor apple in pineapple

If  Dad is pop, how come Mom isn't Mop?

Now there is something for all of you to ponder today.

So tomorrow is my next class session and we now are incorporting charades and voice recording into the class.

Also tomorrow I intend to break down...I can't handle another day of rice....so I found a Pizza Shop///YEA and going to give it a try...Picture is shown

Today is going to be a short one as I have to work on my lesson plan...

  1. Hi Mr H, love your blog and am fllowing it avidly. I really laughed about the stars and stripes music! Did you start doing a marching band routine??? I am following your blog but for some reason I don't show up as your friend! Have you booted me out???!!!! Stay well and keep it coming - I love it!

  2. David -- so you had a run in with a dragon -- what was the event? Just an advertising promotion or some festival?

And tired of rice? PIZZA -- well that sure indicates a craving for something "familiar"

    Loved the Poem.....

  3. The students got a kick out of craving pizza (of course they crave pizza all the time.) We can't wait to hear what it tasted like. We were also curious, like Paul, if the dragon was for a festival or if it was just an everyday occurence there. Have a great day! I'm copying the poem and using it in Language class!

  4. David...I know you posted yesterday don't be saying or calling any of your friends, colleagues from across the pond a 'TIT'... completely different meaning and not in a favourable way:)
Glad to see you met the friendly dragon... I've sent the blog to Connie Cali I think she will become a follower.

  5. Sarah - Maybe David should have put it up as T.I.T. -- from my conversation with him he didn't pronounce the word -- but actually spelled it out...

  6. Ursula I think you have to enroll in gmail to be a follower but I think you have done that already as I dont think you can post unless you enroll....

  7. we had Papa John's pizza other night. I'm sure THai is better.
    ('cause we are in Miami).
